My Lifelong Wanderlust Has Left Me Craving the RV Lifestyle

No matter how many places I visit, or how many different experiences I have, I always find myself longing to travel some more. This Wanderlust has led me all over North America and the Carribean, but it's also left me craving a new lifestyle – the RV lifestyle.
That's the heart of what this website is all about. I'm sharing our love for the RV lifestyle with likeminded people who either are already enjoying the freedom it brings or are looking for their escape plan. We've been creating our escape plan for about 6 years now. As we count down the months until we go from living in our RV half the year to living and traveling full time, I'll continue to share with you what we've learned and what we're continuing to explore before casting all we've ever known to the curb and heading out full time.
In our case we are preparing for one of us to retire and the other to continue working remotely, but from the travel perspective of working from wherever we are that week. We are also planning to take our two pugs Grover and Niles and so there's planning for their health and wellbeing once we hit the road. So, as we plan for work access requirements and on the road access to pet health care (Grover has already had two surgeries) I'll share with you what we're learning.

How do you get started in the RV lifestyle?
There are a few things you need to know before you hit the road in your RV. You'll want to make sure you have all the necessary supplies and that your vehicle is in good condition. Once you're ready, it's time to start your adventure!
The first step is to plan your route, I’ve created a sample National Parks trip below. Decide where you want to go and map out the best way to get there. Once you have your route planned, you can start packing your RV. Make sure to bring along all the supplies you'll need, including food, water, and camping gear. Thank goodness for places like Walmart, you’re going to find you’ve forgotten something, or you’ll need to restock supplies along the way.
Once you're on the road, be sure to stay safe and obey all traffic laws. Remember to keep an eye on your fuel levels and always be prepared for unexpected adventures. With a little bit of preparation, you're ready to hit the open road in your RV!
What are the best RV destinations to satisfy my Wanderlust?
An example of my dream RV Trip. I created this example based on leaving from a major metro location. My personal experience in this trip began leaving from home in Iowa and taking a more northern route to the same locations including a quick stop in Rocky Mountain National Park. I did my route in 2 weeks and have made 3 trips back because you just can’t take it all in during that limited time.
Traveling by RV is the perfect way to experience the great outdoors and explore the wonders of the National Parks. With the RV Wanderlust, you can plan an exciting national park road trip that will take you from Fort Worth to some of the most iconic places in the United States.
Our example itinerary begins in Fort Worth and includes stops at Mesa Verde National Park, Canyonland National Park, Arches National Park, Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon, Walnut Canyon National Monument, Petrified Forest National Park and White Sands National Park before heading back to Fort Worth.
Along the way you'll be able to experience majestic mountain views, vistas of deep canyons, and plenty of opportunities for hiking and camping. With the RV Wanderlust, you'll be able to have the road trip of a lifetime while exploring some of the most breathtaking national parks in the country.
With this particular itinerary you'll be traveling just under 3000 miles, and it would be up to you to decide how long this trip would take. Might be 2 weeks, or it might be a month if you have the time to really immerse yourself in all there is to see in these amazing locations.
There are many great RV destinations all across the United States to satisfy ones wanderlust. Some of the most popular ones include Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Canyon, and Mount Rushmore. If you're looking for a beach getaway, Myrtle Beach or Daytona Beach are great options. Or if you're looking for a more urban experience, New York City or San Francisco are both excellent choices. Whatever your interests, there is sure to be an RV destination that's perfect for you.
It seems that the RV lifestyle is the perfect way to satisfy my wanderlust and my need to constantly explore new places. I can't wait to hit the open road and see all that this amazing country has to offer!
Some of my favorite RV destinations include the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, and Mount Rushmore having been to each more than once. These are all iconic places that are definitely worth a visit, but there are endless possibilities when it comes to exploring America by RV. I'm excited to discover new and amazing places by RV that I never would have otherwise had the chance to see.
